What I love about my job: I have worked in financial aid since 1988 and at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ since 1996. This profession involves service to students and families, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, technology, regulations, and an understanding of the financial challenges our constituents face. It is just the right balance of time spent counseling students and families and time spent on detailed work.
What I love about Ä¢¹½´«Ã½: Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ is a small town that has everything I need. The people of Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ are friendly, service oriented, generous, and caring. When you come to Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, be ready to respond to a wave and/or hello!
Hobbies/activities: I enjoy spending time with my family, attending my grandchildren's activities, watching football and the WNBA, and reading.
Advice about searching for schools: Visit as many schools as possible — especially when they are within driving distance. If you live further away, take advantage of virtual tours. You can also learn a lot about a school and its community by reaching out to individuals directly with your questions. Don't just rely on AI.
Advice about applying to schools: Take the time to use a college's Net Price Calculator; don't just rely on a quick two-minute estimator tool. Also, read your emails! This is the primary way that schools will communicate with you about next steps.
